If you’ve always wanted to enter the underwater world quietly, on your own terms, staying as long as your breath allows, then freediving is for you. Freediving is about inward power, discipline and control. Taking the PADI Freediver course is a great way to explore beneath the waves – without bubbles!

No diving experience is necessary.

Students must know how to swim and be comfortable in the water.
-
Safety for and during breathhold activities is stressed throughout the course.
To enroll in a PADI Freediver course you must be at least 15 years old.
COURSE DURATION: 2 days
COST: $350 plus boat fee and any rental gear (minimum 2 people)
COURSE STRUCTURE
The PADI Freediver Course consists of three main phases:

Knowledge development about freediving principles through independent online study with the PADI Freediver Touch (or your instructor may conduct class sessions).

Confined water session to learn breathhold techniques as well as static and dynamic apnea. Goal – static apnea of 90 seconds and dynamic apnea of 25m/80ft.

Open water sessions to practice free immersion and constant weight freedives, plus proper buddy procedures. Constant weight freedive of 10 m/30ft to a max of 18m/55ft.

EQUIPMENT
The following items are required for all students. We understand that you might not have all of the gear listed and suggest that you contact us so that we can provide some guidance to help you with your purchasing decisions. We may also have some items available for rent and we offer a discount on gear to enrolled students.

Mask, snorkel and bifins appropriate for freediving*

Rubber or Silicon weight belt and weights in small increments

Appropriate exposure protection (1.5mm wetsuit in the summer, 2-3mm wetsuit in winter)

Safety lanyard (available for rent)

Depth gauge and timing device**
*For Basic Freediver and Freediver course students, gear/equipment types appropriate to freediving, which may differ from the same items used for scuba, are encouraged but not required.
**May be integrated into a single instrument – freediving computer. Timing device should have a setting for timing seconds, such as a stopwatch function.

PADI ADVANCED FREEDIVER
​
Are you ready to take your freediving to the next level?? Achieving a new freediving time or reaching a new depth is an incredible feeling. It satisfies that very personal desire to do your best and be proud of what you can accomplish. The PADI Advanced Freediver course is designed to fulfill that personal need to refine and improve your freediving skills, allowing you to progress safely while learning how your body performs during apnea.
This course will focus on the following

Continuing to develop your understanding of how the underwater world interacts with your body and how that affects you when freediving

Expand and refine your knowledge of freediving equipment.

Continuing your development in static apnea, dynamic apnea, free immersion and constant weight freediving

Improve your equalization techniques for deeper freediving.

Improve your breath hold time and depth
-
Advance your skills as a buddy (through safety drills)
COURSE DURATION: 2.5 days
COST: $695 plus boat fee and any rental gear (minimum 2 people)
COURSE STRUCTURE
The PADI Advanced Freediver course consists of three main phases:

Knowledge development about advanced freediving techniques and equipment. You’ll study independently using the PADI Freediver eLearning (or your instructor may conduct class sessions if not available in your language).

Confined water session to learn stretching and relaxation techniques as well as refine static and dynamic apnea. Goal – static apnea of 2:30 seconds (2:00 for freedivers younger than 18) and dynamic apnea of 50 metres/165 feet (40 metres/130 feet for freedivers younger than 18)

Open water sessions to practice deeper free immersion and constant weight freedives, along with additional buddy procedures and rescue techniques. Goal – constant weight freedive of 20 meters/65 feet (15 metres/50 feet for freedivers younger than 18)
Prerequisites
PADI Freediver Certification (or qualifying cert from another freediving organization)
CPR and First Aid within 24 the last 24 months

SPEARFISHING UNIVERSITY
​
Spearfishing can be a difficult sport to break into. It may seem complex, full of mystery, and a little dangerous. Our course hopes to dis-spell some of the mystery surrounding spearfishing and give you a solid foundation so you can enjoy it safely while allowing you to routinely each fresh fish! Our students range from absolute beginners to Spearos with several years of experience. We taylor the course to your skill level. Book your course today!

COST: $399 per person including boat (Just classroom $159)
PREREQUISITES
Students must be have PADI Freediver certification (or cert from an established freediving agency).
Students must have their own speargun or polespear.

COURSE STRUCTURE
This course is split into two parts, classroom and openwater.
During the classroom session we discuss the following topics:

Aspetto, Aquatto, and Direct Approach (Dive Bombing)

Handling and Cleaning Your Catch

During the open water sessions we put what we learned in the classroom into action. We group into buddy teams and work a section of the reef and spend some time stalking fish. We will spend a little time critiquing the dives/stalks made by the students. Depths will range from 25-45 feet. Any fish taken will be processed at the dock.
